Kenya is a
beautiful land in East Africa. She is best known for the safaris. Though, apart
from the safaris, Kenya is the land to enjoy bird watching in places like Lake
Nakuru, golfing, canoeing, kayaking, mountain climbing, swimming, fishing, and
many exciting fun activities.
Since many tourists choose Kenya as the place to enjoy their holidays, here are the tips you need to know before you travel to Kenya.

Security
Kenya is a
safe country, despite being attacked by the terrorist (Al Shabaab) several
times the government has worked very hard to ensure every citizen and visitors
are trending on the safe grounds.
As a
country, we have experienced four terrorist attacks. Rarely do they attack
places where tourists visit, most they attack malls and schools.
Also when
you are on the streets at night is not safe. It is advisable to go as a group
as there are groups of small boys who attack both citizen and tourists.
Culture.
Kenya has 44 tribes altogether. But most cultures have died due to civilization. Some of the tribes that still maintain their cultures are the Masaai and the Swahili. To experience these diverse cultures you have to visit Mombasa and Narok County. Most citizens speak English and Kiswahili. So as a tourist is very easy to understand one another.

Ask For Help.
Sometimes as
a tourist you can get lost when exploring the streets of Kenya, it is advisable
to ask the police for help, either you are asking for directions or any other
help it is best to consult the men in uniform.
The reason is that, there some idlers men who can misadvise you and later steal and harm you because they definitely know that you are a visitor. Or better hire a tour guide who will help you navigate the streets.

Communication.
It is encouraged immediately you arrive, buy a Kenyan sim card for easy communication when you need services. Also, ubers are all around and it is very easy to call for one when you need them when you have a Kenyan sim card.
Street Food
Everywhere you go in Kenya you will see very many vendors cooking and selling different delicacies. They are not harmful to eat. As a matter of fact, they are very nutritious, sweet and appetizing. You can grab a sausage with kachumbari (this is a famous garnish in Kenya) and enjoy it while you are going about your daily activities.

Accommodation
Hotels are
considered to be the best because everything will be catered for. But if you
are planning to come and stay for a long period of time renting a space is more
affordable. A decent one bedroom in Kenya goes for $200 a month, which is very
affordable.
Transport
Moving from
one place to another as a tourist is very easy in Kenya. We have public
transport which is very cheap and affordable, you just need to go to the bus
station and board the bus that will take you to your destination.
Also, you
can consider using uber which will take you from where you are (you do not need
to go to the bus station) and take you to your desired destination.
Those are
some of the tips you need to know before you travel to Kenya.
